Unfortunately, users have no practical way to take advantage of this theoretical knowledge until recently. So not only is it possible to reduce tool wear and increase material removal at the same time, it is required if you are going to take full advantage of RCT. As stepovers are decreased, material removal rates must be increased to maintain constant chip loads and manage heat removal so that the cutting tool does not fail prematurely.
